The Louisiana Association of Educators (LAE) awarded HD 96 Rep. Terry Landry an A+ grade for his voting record on education issues in the 2014 session of the Louisiana Legislature.
House members were graded on 12 bills that the LAE had a position on in the 2014 session. The bills covered everything from changing the retirement age, to authorizing charter schools, to studying the teacher evaluation system. Rep. Terry Landry, who was not elected with official backing of any teacher organization, analyzed the issues and came down on the side of the LAE on them.
This marked the second consecutive session in which Rep. Landry received a strong approval rating from the LAE in their legislative report card. He received an A+ grade in the organization’s 2013 report card as well.
